I Exalt Thee

“I Exalt Thee” by Phil Driscoll, is a classic Christian worship song of adoration.  “Exalt” means to raise someone to his highest position, to praise and glorify him. That is exactly what the song does. It lifts God to the highest position of reverence, glorifying Him, and acknowledging His supreme authority and holiness above all else. The primary verse is drawn directly from Psalm 97:9 – “For Thou, Lord, art high above all the earth; Thou art exalted far above all gods”. The repeated chanting of “I exalt Thee” is a heartfelt expression of surrender reflecting a believer’s awe and the deliberate choice to put God first in their life, thoughts, and words.  At its core, the song emphasizes praising God for who He is, rather than just what He gives us. It serves as a reminder to worship Him regardless of the good or bad circumstances in life. Phil Driscoll’s rendition is soulful and evocative of heartfelt praise by the listener
