The Goodness of Jesus

CityAlight’s website unabashedly states that their vision is to write songs with 1.)  biblically rich lyrics and 2.) simple melodies for the Christian church to sing. With the song “The Goodness of Jesus”,  CityAlight accomplishes this vision superbly.

The first verse calls all weary hearts with anxious souls to find rest in Jesus’ perfect love and experience His wondrous peace as He so invites the weary and heavy-laden to experience rest in Matthew 11:28-30. The lyrics further reference passages from Psalm 90, John 7, and John 4, as they beautifully capture the essence of the themes grace, redemption, and love. The song reminds us that Jesus offers living water to quench our thirst forever yielding our supreme satisfaction.

In times when we feel weak and needy, this song invites us to surrender to Jesus and to find total satisfaction and rest in Him. Allow this song to create a feeling of rest as you sing along and watch the serene scenes of beauty in the video.
