Fairest Of All

“Psalm 45 – “The Fairest of All” is a song of adoration of Jesus Christ in all His splendor. In the first part of the hymn, the greatness and beauty of the King is extolled – “What grace pours from your lips . . . the melody of the sound turns my winter into spring” and “Ten thousand strong, You’re the fairest of all; fairest in heaven and earth. Of the children of men, You’re the fairest of them – Fairest in heaven and earth!”

The second part of the hymn speaks to the followers of Christ- the church, the bride of Christ. “You ransomed Your bride on the day that You died; Ascended to heaven in glory. She stands clothed in white with her head lifted high singing ‘Come and return in Your glory’ ” –  the bride cries  Maranatha, come Lord Jesus!
