The Commission
Cain’s song ,“The Commission”, places Jesus at the center of his heart-breaking goodbye to his disciples – his closest friends – after his crucifixion and resurrection. Jesus told them “I know it’s hard for you to believe that I was dead but now live; see my hands and look at my feet. But I won’t be staying with you. I’ve got to go for a little while; my goodbye today is not final. I promise that I will come back again but until then, go everywhere and tell the world about me. My spirit will be with you wherever you go. So, you have a purpose now; go tell the world about me!”
